Every kraft paper bag starts with one decision: recycled or virgin fiber, and the right answer depends on what the bag carries and what your brand promises. What Virgin Kraft Does Well

Virgin kraft is made from new wood fiber. Long, unbroken fibers give the sheet its strength, which is why heavier-duty bags and demanding print jobs typically run on virgin stock. If the bag carries weight, takes moisture, or presents a premium brand in crisp print, virgin kraft is the default.

What Recycled Kraft Does Well

Recycled kraft reuses fiber that has already lived as paper. Each cycle shortens the fibers, so recycled sheets trade some strength for a smaller footprint and a visible sustainability story. For many retail and takeaway applications, the strength difference never matters; the bag is carried once, and the recycled story is worth more to the brand than the margin of strength it gives up.

The Honest Answer Most Suppliers Avoid

Neither grade is "better." A supermarket SOS bag emptied in an hour has different needs from a boutique carrier kept and reused. Our advice runs on two questions: what does the bag carry, and what does your brand want the bag to say? Brown recycled kraft says one thing; bright white virgin kraft with a 6-color print says another.
